Countdown

At our house, we are counting down to many things. One is Elsa's first birthday next week. (Already?) Another is the end of school..which isn't for a few more weeks. (I'd be glad to end today and call it good.) It's been the hardest school year in recent memory and I'll be glad to be done. The saving grace is that there isn't one really big thing that has ruined it, but just a BUNCH of little things that have weighed on me. Next year doesn't look to be much better--maybe even worse--but I just can't think about that right now. The big giant hole out our back door is finally filling in with grass, so pretty soon the dog won't be tracking in giant clumps of mud all over our tan carpet.

Here are a few scenes of life in the last week:

The little clumps of mud are from Elsa getting them out of the plant. No matter where we put that plant, she finds it. And moves at lightening speed towards it.

Hmmmm....Reaching for something?

Not the best picture ever, but that's what happens when you take your own photograph!

A new hairstyle!

Standing. Everywhere. Sometimes Elsa stands on purpose. Other times she looks a little surprised to be standing. She's doing well, but a couple of days ago she took a dive from a standing position. Her tooth cut her lip and I was a little freaked out to see the blood. She seems to be a daredevil girl, so I think this may be just the first bloody lip of many.....
