The summer, so far

We are having a good summer here at the Pope house.  I teach two Spanish classes a week, so that gives the girls plenty of time with their grandparents.  Elsa is spending the whole week with Grandma Carol and Grandpa Wes going to Vacation Bible School at their church.  She's having a good time and Anna is enjoying getting to be a temporary only child.  I'm finding out that I enjoy a three-year-old...She's still little enough that I can make her go where I want to go and eat what I want her to eat (T.J.Maxx! The grocery store!  The mall!  Let's eat turkey sandwiches for lunch!) but big enough that she talks about interesting things.  Full disclosure: I told her that the turkey sandwich was chicken because that's what she said she wanted and I did buy her a new pair of Hello Kitty flip flops at TJ Maxx.  We've also spent several afternoons the pool.  I went to a two-day conference last week and met with some new teachers this week, so it's been a good summer so far.

4th lightbulb!  I was pretty excited that Anna looked at the camera this time.  (This one is by the Retired Teachers' Fountain.)

Of course, we had to go to the zoo.  Anna wanted to start at the camels and we did!  We had fun feeding them (but it's hard to get a good photo of camels.  They aren't into posing.

Anna the caterpillar.

Anna the frog.

We got a butterfly to sit on Anna's hand. (Sidenote: Look at that sassy haircut that Anna got from her dad.  We think that he should start a side business.)

Train selfie!
