The summer so far is good. After almost 8 years in daycare, there is no one in daycare anymore. I think the transition has been harder on Anna than anyone wanted to admit. She's a little worn out and stressed--I think she misses her friends and the predictability of daycare. I've also realized that I miss the structure of it, too.
I'm enjoying getting to some of my summer "jobs." I've experimented with a few crock pot recipes and marked my favorite cook books with the recipes I want to try. My college class is small (3 students) this year, and I think we're really going to have some fun. I've already made it to the gym (or out walking) more times in the last two weeks that I did all last year, so that's good. I'm still at that point in the summer where I have grand plans of decluttering and cleaning the house and changing the whole mood by finding the right picture for the living room wall (which, as I think about it is a lot like changing my whole life by finding the right lipstick). I'm sure the feeling will pass in a few days. We've joined the library reading program again and I am thrilled that we can keep track of reading and library visits ON PAPER.
We have friends visiting right now, which means that there are many people to play with and lots of fun things to do. (I'll admit--Anna and I are hanging out in the quiet at home right now. We both needed some down time.)
