Spring Break

Some years at Spring Break, the weather is mild and we do fun things around town. Not this year. It has been cold, windy and there's so much snow....Just as it started to thaw, some weird snow/tornado/rain thing started. Several parts of Nebraska that are close to rivers are flooding and getting evacuated, so I'm grateful that we're dry here (and feeling a little guilty about complaining so much about the cold and snow).

We had no great plans for the break--I had a hair appointment, Anna wanted to get her ears pierced and it looked like lunch at Arby's might be the highlight of the week. The girls were planning to spend two days with their grandparents (and I was going to clean my classroom #livingthedream). About an hour before the grandparents got here, my phone buzzed and Elsa got a chance to go to a water park with friends. Her grandparents were wonderful about changing plans and Anna was glad to get some time alone with them (and, as she said to me and her dad: "I was ready for some time away from you). I got to have dinner with Steph--and the best lemon/blueberry cheesecake EVER. It's been a good end to the week.

This girl can jump!
Anna started the break with a birthday party.

What's down time without some selfies?

Look at those cute ears!

Yes, we used a filter. No matter how many pictures we take (15? 20?), the girls look good on the first try and I always look a little weird.
Monster cookie ice cream as a snack between finishing the second Harry Potter movie and watching Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.

We had a fox in out backyard now. It's big. And seems to make itself at home.

The zoo!

The Lied Jungle

And to top it off, Anna had a sleepover to end the weekend.
