Oh, blessed day, I am back working on my Mac. I'm not really sure how it all happened, because when I went to bed last night, Derek had cords everywhere, the PC was shutting down every time we tried to hook the router to it and the Mac simply wasn't cooperating at all. I got up this morning and saw a DSL modem in the middle of our office floor with its cords going out to each of our computers. The new router is sitting by itself (and not plugged in at all), but there's internet to both computers. I'm beginning to think that I should have just let Derek mess with the cords we already had before I bought something fancy. Lesson learned. He's really good at doing lots of things--I sure hope he doesn't feel like I'm pulling him down with my lack of skill at anything practical.
And speaking of skill...My newest thing is that I'm teaching a study skills class this semester. In case you haven't been charting every change in my career, let me tell you that in 14 years (!!!!) of teaching, I've never once taught anything other than Spanish. Ever. I'm not really scared, but I'm a little nervous about doing something so completely different than anything I've done before. I'll keep you posted.

Oh - that's the fun part of being together - figuring out all the quirks.
Darren has determined I'm the IT department in our household - every home needs one these days!
