So after class today I stopped by the mechanic. The part for my car was sitting on the desk. In its box. Not really a good sign for a person who was hoping to take her car home right then. The mechanic said that they hadn't gotten to it yet because the guy who works "on these kinds of cars" (What kind of cars? VW? Unreliable ones? Pain in the a%$^ cars?) was working on one and it was taking about twice as long as it should have. (No surprise to me.) He said that my car wouldn't be done until late in the afternoon, so I opted to use my new bus knowledge and go home. I had about 45 minutes until the next bus, so I went over to the Foundation Gardens in downtown Lincoln and listened to the Wednesday music. This week is was a group that sounded a little like Ziggy Marley and a little like Simon and Garfunkel. Pretty good stuff. I lunched on frozen yogurt and popcorn. (Just a little aside....Life is pretty good when you're outside on a Wednesday listening to music and eating popcorn and frozen yogurt for lunch just because your car doesn't work.)
I got home about 1:45 and got to say hi to Derek before he went back to work. All the car errands I had planned for this afternoon had to be canceled. I'll admit it--I was glad. The last thing I wanted to do was run around in my car and deal with a new driver's license and the bank and ink for the printer. I'm also having kind of a bad hair day and I hope that I'll take a better driver's license picture tomorrow.

I'm glad you're riding the bus sometimes.
