Wisdom

Some people might say I'm getting older, but I'd like to think I'm getting wiser. This week, when some on my Spanish students handed in their Spanish projects in French, I laughed, wrote down their zero and moved on without fretting or worrying. When my baby begged (BEGGED) to go shopping on Black Friday, I put my wallet, phone and keys in my coat pocket and headed out. The only thing I had to hang on to was a wiggly little girl--no purse holding me down. When I found a nice brown coat in her size, I walked three steps over to the hats and mittens and picked up a matching hat and mittens. I would have kept using the pink hat and mittens because they look good enough, but I know my husband well enough to know that he wants her to match and be stylish. (She looks so cute in her new ensemble.) When I found jeans that fit me perfectly, I bought two pair. I went home after one store because I know that shopping karma runs out. There are times when you've done so well that it isn't worth ruining the good feelings with a bad trip to a second store. When I woke up early this morning, I decided to get up and get my trip to the gym over with. When I got to the gym before it opened (and knew that if I went home I'd never make it to the gym today), I went over to WalMart and got a ton of things done. I think that all of my future trips to WalMart will be in the wee hours of the morning. It is a MUCH more pleasant place at 6AM.

So this Thanksgiving weekend, I am thankful for family, health, friends and many other things. But I am also thankful for wisdom.

Malia, I think I have done this correctly this time......though I am not sure whether I have a gmail account I can use or just a blogger's account. Mom
