Baking

This is what happens when girls who play with Play-Doh and watch the Great British Baking Show are let loose on sugar cookie dough. (Full disclosure: I'm trying to see if I can refine their cookie skills enough to have them make some of the cookies at Christmas.)

One part of Anna's tinted dough.

Elsa's tined dough and her confetti dough. She said the confetti dough was the best.

Grace came over to help us form cookies.

While the girls made their cookies, I made my own batch of almond cookies from a cook book I got from the library. Somehow, a book on Fika--the Swedish coffee break--called to me. I've found several recipes to try. The almond cookies were easy, delicious and a total change from what I usually make. They also used some of the almond meal from Trader Joe's that I thought I would use but has been cluttering the fridge. A total win.

Oh, and Happy San Fermín Day. It's the first year since I started teaching summer school that I forgot to teach everyone the San Fermín song karaoke version.
